Soo, the last two days have been fun. more bad luck today.. but more out of stupidity than luck..
3 days ago, we moved to a new resort on the island to where marie was staying - 200baht per night for a basic but nice bungalow on the beach (1.50pounds per person). Then the 5 of us (andreas, anna, julian, marie and i) all headed out to one of the islands waterfalls. after a trek, we couldnt find it so headed for a market closeby. we walked around and had some nibbles on the street stalls before heading to Haad Rin which is the busy tourist party part. To get there, you need to scoot on these craaazy hilly roads that go up 20percent incline and then down the same. it seems to last for ages, and terrifies me. anyway, we were up front checking back to make sure everyone was following. and suddenly, no one was behind us.. we went back after a few mins and somehow andreas tyre on his bike had popped. they were okay, but the bike had to be picked up and fixed. just the day before the tyre had popped while julian was on and we got it repaired for 600baht. turns out the first guys to repair it ripped us off and put the wrong part on. sooo dangerous!!!! but luckily everyone was okay. the tyre had popped on top of a hill at an open air resterasunt looking over the ocean. it was gorgeous. we had some dinner and got the bike back before heading home. we took some looong way home which took us about an hour, but driving in the dark was fun. we had some drinks on our porch and chatted til midnight. they all went to build another bonfire, but i was popped and read a little before bed. dam pills!!!
the day after was relaxing.. we got up around 10am and went for some eggs and coconut shakes for breakfast. yummy. afterwards we strolled to the beach and lazed about there. so relaxing. easy day. perfect! had some green curry for dinner (my favourite) and stayed on the beach til the sun came down. we built another bonfire and sat around it until again around midnight. some beers, some chatting, gazing at the stars. twas nice :)
and yesterday.. back to crazyness!!!!!!!!!!!!! we went with marie to the port to say goodbye to to her as she now heads up north while we stay in the sunny beached island of koh pangan. after breakfast we headed to a new beach for the day. this track was a dirt track and boys swore they could handle it. the Thai's were laughing when we asked for directions. They would say, 'no. too big hills. no'.
Buuuuuuuut, noooooo, the boys thought they could do it. as soon as we hit the dirt track, a big hill with bumps and ditches came and julian and i went crashing into a rock at the side of the track with the bike falling into a ditch. sooo luckily, i somehow fell off backwards landing on my feet while julian went crashing into the wall head first. he is so so so lucky that he only scraped his head and knees, but has hurt his arm - cant move it very well just now, hopefully a sprain. the bike seems to be okay too.. but it was terrifying!!!!!!! and it was about 10seconds into the 20minute route. stupidly, andreas and anna wanted to continue but there was no way in HELL i was going.
me and julian decided to take the taxi jeep to the beach from haad rin. it was the best decision as 30mins later, anna and andreas showed up at the starting point with cuts and bruises.. they fell off too just a little further up. it was a crazy route.... when we got on the route with the jeep and it took the route were were trying to scoot. it was crazy. it was the scariest tiniest dirt track youv ever seen, with the steapest winding turns. i was terrified even on the jeep. but we finally got to the island after a 10minute foot trek and it was okay. nothing special at all.. we had some dinner and had to get the last boat back 1 hour later before it got dark. the waves were massive so it was a fun boat ride. afterwards we walked around haad rin for 2 hours, had an icecream and fruit shake then scooted back towards our place. we stopped at a cool thai food market and had a wonder around. i dont think the thais ever eat at home!!!! we lazed around and freshened up before taking a walk along the beach in the dark with a flashlight in search of some food.
Todays a nice relaxing day by the beach with my book and music.. exactly what i feel like... so not too much gossip. I sat earlier with my feet in the water with the waves coming over and cooling me down while i chilled to some music. great feeling :)
