Well, although im on a beautiful tropical island, bad things just keep happening. i rented a little pink scooter because julian was seeing his sister in another resort.. andreas, anna and I wanted to go see some waterfalls and another beach.
i practised a little, and felt good on it, so hired it. everything was fine until andreas started driving up dirt tracks with loose stones everywhere.. he turned a sharp corner with a massive hole in the path and guess who came falling off her bike.......
yep, me! The scooter turned and fell on me, i was fine, i cut my hand and scraped my leg, but fine.. unfortunately the bike is a little bashed, but taking it back soon.. hopefully the guy doesnt see. but the chances are low.. daaaammmmit.
After that i was kinda scared and put off, but had to drive on and toward the other beach.. i went slow and got andreas to take it over the dodgy bits, so luckily nothing else happened. we reached the next beach and found we had stopped too early... it was the next beach we were aiming for.. (where julian and his sis planned to meet us).. so we were told we could walk over, around the rocks. im still not allowed in the sea yet with my leg, so there was me.. with my heavy beach bag, scraped hand and leg, blistered ankle crawling up and down slidy rocks with flip flips.. (one that turned out to have a piece of coral stuck in with was poking right through to my foot leaving a cut) IN THE BAKING SUN.. 35DEGREE HEAT. this lasted for 25minutes and i was DYING!!!!!!!!
Finally a little thai man found us and said we went the wrong way. he took us back then up through the forrest, which i swear was at a 180degree angle.. i had to pull myself up using grass and weeds!!!! finally we got to the top and andreas got a lift back to his scooter then we drove to the next beach. gggggggeeeeeeeeeeeezzz.
when we arrived at coconut beach, i plopped into the hammock and fell asleep within 3 minutes. well deserved though maybe :)
i woke to julian and his sis standing over me. so we chatted a little then 5 of us went for some lunch. - the food is amazing. i had a thai green curry which said 'mild'. it was NOT mild. but yummy anyway. watch out bryan.. if it ever says hot on the menu, they mean DEATH!
We headed back to our place around 7pm and had some drinks. some more food then to the beach with some beers. julians sis marie lit up a fire and we lay on the beach looking at the stars and chatting til 1am hit.
eventful day anyway.. but im hoping the relaxation will come soon. feels daaam stressful!!! but i shouldnt complain. its so beautiful here, with perfect weather. hot sun, light breeze, cool nights. perfect.
the place we stayed the last two nights is kinda funny. a little hut with a bed and a big mosquito net around. the toilet is hilarious. a little place to pee with a bucket to flush. and a little handle to hold over you where water comes out (shower). :)
we move resorts tonight, so trying another part of the island.
so far so good though. my blisters arent healing very well.. two of them just blistered again so they need to be popped and heal.. but anti biotics should keep the infection away!
