now im on the koh pagnan island, and yes, its picture postcard perfect. such a beauty with toootal under-development. exactly what we wanted!
Yesterday was our last day in Bangkok and what a day....
I woke in the morning with one of my insect bites (which I got all over my leg) as a big ass blister. it was horrible. i told the staff at the hotel and they offered me some balm. within one hour the two above had blistered and one with yellow puss dried around it. yuuuuk. i saw a pharmasist who gave me pills and cream.. but it looked really bad, so showed the hotel again and the hotel manager came down to see me.. offering check out whatever time we needed and sent me to the hospital.
the hospital was crazy. as big as a hotel and as nice as one. it was all so organised though did take 3 hours in total for everything. I managed to get an appointment just 45minutes after showing up.. the doc popped my blisters and covered them up. He gave me two sets of pills to take.. 4 times a day to make sure the infection didnt get worse..
he also told me to not walk too much and keep my leg up as much as possible.. like i can do that bagpacking it in Thailand!!!!!
basically, i got bitten and it was infected. he burst the blisters, taped me up, gave me more pills.. so thats 4 a day now im on!!!!!!!!! I feel like a granny who's body wont function properly without meds!!!!
i got outta there after 3 hours limping... and not allowed in the sea for 2 days. boooh.
afterwards we met andreas and anna and headed on the overnight train to Koh pagnan where we are now. crazy train, lots of fun. seats that turn into beds when u want... we were up til 2am keeping everyone up.. whoops. but fun and got 3 hours sleep. next was a 1 hour bus, then a 1.5hour boat. got on the island at 10am with sunburn already. we rented some scooters and set off. the island is gorgeous. cant wait to explore it some more. driving around on these scooters with the luggage is a mini nightmare.. im terrified we will bump into a pothole and the weight of the bag will send me flying...
