You know its gonna be even better when your woken up by the doorbell.. and standing pushing the buzzer is a man delivering a box of 12 award winning wines. Julian thought it would be nice to order a set of wines, test them out and take note of some favourites.
Good idea, I must admit.
Some eggs, bacon and beans later we decided to start the day.. 2pm. Actually we studied for a while, (well, I did.. Julian searched for flights to Sri Lanka for 2 hours) and at 5pm we had the fantastic offer of a lift to Tesco for some shopping. Gregors brother and his brothers girlfriend drove over from Aachen and arrived yesterday morning to the livingroom (where they will sleep) smelling of last nights Chinese. Oops.. Not such nice hosts are we. Anyway, they brought over Gregors car and now we can go to Tesco and get as much as we want. Usually we could only carry a certain amount, and lets be honest.. it can get embarrassing at times pulling all your bags on to the bus while trying to swipe your rideacard and not hold the entire bus up!!!!!! So, as you can see.. it was very nice to have a lift from Gregor.
We got home for 7pm with a truckload of grub for the next 2 weeks. Oh how I love to see the fridge full of yummy goodies. Funny thing is.. When we got home, we were hank-marvin with only having some breakfast. Even though we had just bought everything that appealed to us at Tesco, we couldn't think what to eat. Julian had a tin of soup and I had toast! ...Whats that all about?!?!
After some relaxing.. well, email checking, flight checking.. we popped the first bottle of white and enjoyed some nice cheese we bought earlier in the week. So, results on the first bottle; strong. It wasn't so tasty, more bursting with flavor, heavy and crisp.. I prefer mine smooth and light. But, you know theres certain types of wine that even when you smell it you feel woozy? It was one of those. As you can imagine.. One bottle later we were boozed and ready to party. My kinda vino!
We spruced up a little and headed out to Frankensteins to meet Gregor and crew......
We arrived and couldn't see Gregor in the downstairs bar so took it as an opportunity to grab a quick bite to eat outside before heading to the upstairs bar to meet them. Well soup and sandwiches don't really do for dinner, do they? Especially when your a little drunkan. I opted for chips & cheese (the British classic) and Julian for a cheese burger.
I know what your thinking.. But it hit the spot!
We made our way back to Frankensteins and found Gregor. Spent about 15minutes trying to order a drink.. Got the drinks and found a seat.. Took a sip of my yummy vodka-black and then we hear, 'right, drink up, pubs closing'. Now that sucks.. The lights came on and we had to leave and Julian had the greeeat idea of going to a bar that had a band playing. Only problem was that he didnt know if it was still open and we had 5 others with us. Well, we tried, got there and it was closed. So a flat party was in order. We opened bottle of white number 2, pumped up the tunes with Julians blazin speakers and danced til sundown..
'I liiike the way you moooove'.
