25th - New York, New York!

Reeeally, I was only stopping off in New York because at the time it seemed to be the cheapest option. The flight to Hamburg was at cheapest on Wednesday morning and I was leaving Camp on the Sunday. I've really never been that interested or excited by NYC. Especially not alone.. but.. There I was, Sunday night flagging down a taxi from the Greyhound bus station to my hotel. Got booked into the Chelsea Star Hotel which was perfect. Stayed in the shared 'dorm' type rooms to save money. As soon as I walked into the room I felt a little panicked. I had never been in such a huge city, all alone, and staying with people I had never met; what if they stole all my things????

Just incase, I took my camera, laptop etc and put them at my pillow.. literally with my arm around them. Hahaha.. crazy Deebo huh. Turns out everyone I was staying with were lovely, and all in the same boat. Had a nice early rising on my first morning, quite excited about what I was gonna do for the day. I thank Camp RH for getting me aquainted with the early risings. Although it was a shame, after such a long 11 days @ Camp, and then the traveling to and from Camp, I was nackered. I was in this amazing city and all I wished I could do was sleep the entire day. But I was good.. I visited some of the sights, took lots of pictures, tasted some reeeal American Pizza and had some fun on Broadway in the evening. Also went on a city lights boat tour in the evening. It wasnt the most exciting tour, but I did get to see the skyline in the early evening and in the dark, so it was pretty if nothing else..

Back to my room for midnight and some chatting with the roomates, I was snoozing by 1:30am.

And; a biiiiig thank you to Julian who planned everything for me..
